Selattyn arranges a variety of out of school activities. Some of these take place on a regular basis and form an integral part of school life.

Swimming sessions, field studies around the grounds and village, sports fixtures with other local schools, athletic and cross country events and services at St. Mary's Church.

Others take place less frequently and are usually undertaken to enrich the curriculum and provide experiences and opportunities for learning, socialising and having fun. These include; three day residential outdoor pursuits trip, museum visits, pantomime visits, local history visits combined with the National Trust and community cohesion visits to Derwen College.

The school also arranges for visiting groups to come into school such as Museum on the Move, West Midlands Theatre and local police and fire officers.

A range of after school clubs also take place including Football coaching, cross country club, athletics club, study club, dance club, ICT club, skipping club, gardening club, art club and music club.
