Home Learning for Class 4

Tasks for Friday 10th March

Task One

Presenting a Point of View.

Often you will hear people speaking about an ‘issue’ on television. They are presenting their point of view.

We all have a point of view, but to present it properly you need to be able to see both sides of the argument, the positive things (pros) and negative things (cons).

Your task today is to come up with both sides of an argument for one of these issues:

• The wearing of school uniform.

• The need for school rules.

• Hunting wild animals (foxes etc)

• Keeping animals in circuses and zoos.

Or another issue you have personal views on.

Develop your ideas looking at the pros and cons before presenting your case and giving your own personal view to conclude with.

When you have all your ideas write a detailed account which you can present to the class next week.

Task Two

Following on from World Book Day, prepare a dust jacket (book cover) of your favourite book. Create a front cover with title, pictures, name of author and illustrator. Then work on a blurb which tells the reader about what the book is about which is always found on the back cover.

Task Three

Spellings and times tables revision please.
