Vacancy: Senior Teacher / SENCo

At Selattyn C.E. Primary School our vision is to nurture each individual in our care, giving them the skills, resilience

and hope to succeed and flourish, both academically and spiritually. Our vision and values are at the heart of

everything we do. We are looking to appoint a Senior Teacher, who will also be our SENCo, who is passionate about

ensuring our children have engaging and ambitious opportunities who will lead through example. They will be an active part of the Senior Leadership Team playing a pivotal role in whole school improvement and the future

development of our small school with a big heart.

At present we have 77 pupils on role, from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. Amongst our pupils, we have

several who have chosen us for our nurturing learning environment, strong pastoral care, and consistent outstanding

behaviour. Our small school provides pupils with a sense of security and belonging.

​

We are in the process of joining The Marches Multi Academy Trust.

​

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Acting up in the absence of the Headteacher

  • SENCo (with NASENCO qualification or willingness and ability to obtain the SENCO NPQ within 3 years of appointment)

  • Teaching a Year Five/Six Class initially

  • Leading assessment throughout the school

  • Subject lead for computing and a number of areas of the curriculum to be decided upon the appointment of the successful candidate.

  • Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

 

Our candidate will be:

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about making learning experiences meaningful and designing a stimulating curriculum for all

  • Keen to embed all of our Christian Values ‘Hope, Perseverance, Respect, Thankfulness, Forgiveness and Community’ through their practice

  • Committed to developing strong reciprocal relationships with pupils and parents

  • Eager to positively contribute to the wider school development, working within a committed team

  • Willing to be involved in extracurricular activities

  • Knowledgeable about KS2 curriculum, content and pedagogy (With a particular interest in teaching Year 5/6 and preparing pupils for Statutory Assessment Tests)
